Voices by The Sea 2023 invites all choirs to come together for a weekend of festive, non-competitive singing and learning in spectacular venues around Galway.
About Us
Voices by The Sea is designed to offer choirs of all backgrounds and styles an opportunity to come together for a choral event in some of Ireland’s finest music venues and, without the demands of a competition, encourage choirs in the performance of their own repertoire. The festival originated from the effort to bring together people who are united through singing.
Masterclasses with choral directors such as Lucy Champion (Education Co-Ordinator for ANÚNA), workshops and performances from groups such as Ardú and choristers from all over Ireland is an added enjoyment of the festival, as is exploring the amazing locality and sites of Galway City.
Voices by The Sea also schedules the selected choirs to perform in a range of festival activities throughout the weekend, including its Big Sing, guest performances, and at its closing concert. A meet and greet session and festival club allow participants to get to know each other and to meet informally in a convivial social setting. Each day of this choral festival is filled with many music opportunities. Voices by The Sea is also accessible to non-choir members who would like to experience the feeling of being in a choir community and partake in a new Galway festival.
